Fayose is accuse by APC of insincerity over state’s finances

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has accused Governor Ayodele Fayose of not telling the truth about the financial status of the state, being his excuse for not paying workers salary.

The party said the governor’s message to the civil servants that they should not expect salary in January was a mark of his uncaring attitude to workers, stressing that the current allocation to Ekiti State is enough to pay workers’ salaries, since according to them, the governor had refused to embark on any infrastructure development programme.

In a statement by Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, the party said October statutory federal allocation to the state and local governments totalling N3,635,936,192.00 was more than enough to address workers’ pay.

“October allocation to the state government is N1,967,380,219.98 while allocation to the 16 local governments is N1,668,555,972.02 totaling N3,635,936,192.00. This is aside from the N9bn bailout which is meant to clear arrears of salaries but which he has diverted and is yet to account for.

“If Fayose claims he spends N2.6b for workers’ salary, which is inflated anyway, what does he do with the balance, particularly as he doesn’t have any infrastructure development spending?” Olatunbosun queried.

Those planning my impeachment shall be disgraced

Meantime,  Governor Fayose  in conjunction with some clerics from various denominations prayed against those plotting his impeachment in 2016, saying they shall be put to shame if they don’t  back down on their plot.

Fayose, who led the prayer meeting, asked the clerics to pray against calamity befalling the country next year, saying there would be events in the country in 2016 that would shake the country to its foundation.

The event, which was in collaboration with Christian Association of Nigeria, took place at the governor’s office in Ado-Ekiti yesterday.

Fayose warned those planning his impeachment to desist or they shall be visited by the wrath of God.
