Nigerians among the best people in the world-Indonesian Ambassador
Harry Purwanto, The Indonesia ambassador to Nigeria, said yesterday 15th that Nigerians were among the best people in the world.
The envoy said this during an interview by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
He said he had observed that the country bad image abroad is created by few Nigerians.
He then called on the majority to do their best to ensure that the minority did not have their way in creating a bad image about the country.

Imo governorship rerun election is fixed for April 25th
The Imo state governorship rerun election date has been fixed for April 25th. INEC had initially declared the election between APC candidate, incumbent governor Rochas Okorocha and PDP candidate Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Reps,on Sunday Apr 12th as inconclusive following some electoral irregularities. The rerun election will take place in 256 polling units.

Patricia Akwashiki, Minister of Information, says President Jonathan will officially hand over to Gen Muhammad Buhari on May 28th and not the accustomed May 29th date. The National Security Adviser (NSA), retired Col. Sambo Dasuki, assurred Nigerians that before the may 29th of presidential handover date the Federal Government will liberate Sambisa forest from Boko Haram.

President Goodluck seek approval for N299BN 2015 NDDC budget
President Goodluck Jonathan wrote the Senate today seeking its approval for the 2015 budget of the Niger Delta Development Commission estimated at N299.5bn.
The amount is lesser than that of 2014 with N23.1bn. Last year budget was N322.6bn.
The letter read on the floor by Senate President, David Mark, he said he was acting pursuant to Section 18 (1) of the NDDC Establishment Act, for the consideration and approval of the National Assembly.

Guinean police battle to control violent demostrations
This morning Apr 14 One protester was killed and several others shot and wounded as Guinean police battled to control violent demonstrations in the capital Conakry against the regime of President Alpha Conde.
The riot broke out around 9:30 am (0930GMT) in Simbaya and Hamdallaye with stone throwing ,setting tyres on fire. the police squard try all best to stop with tear gas and in the process seven youths were treated for gunshot wounds. the demostration was against instability of Conde's government

Curfew is declared in taraba over the violence
The Taraba state governor, Alhaji Sani Abubakar Danladi declared a curfew from 7pm to 6am because of the violent act of the people following the announcement of the governorship election result .The state polls was inconclusive as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) The given reason for the cancellation is that the total number of votes rejected and cancelled was more than the total vote with which the PDP’s candidate led the APC runner-up.
